Fintech Bootcamp 4.0

The Greek Fintech Hub and National Bank of Greece invite you to take part in Fintech Bootcamp 4.0.

The Fintech Bootcamp has been organized for researchers, students and university graduates who have an idea, a business plan, or a ready-made startup in finance.

Our aim is to offer guidance, and to provide networking and information about actions and programs that can support the development of business plans.

It will be held on Friday 8.12 at 17:00 – 20:00 and on Saturday 9.12 at 11:00 – 16:00 at the ACEin of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Troias 2, Athens.

Amazon Dash and Amazon One are chain of real stores that use Just Walk Out technology based on AI, meaning that customers never have to queue to check out.  Mr. Lefteris Chaniotakis, Sr. Enterprise Account Manager of Amazon Web Services in Greece, Cyprus, & Malta will make the presentation.

The event is an initiative of Smart Attica EDIH and it’s held under the co-funding of EU. It will be held on Thursday 3 October, at 6 p.m., at the Archimedes Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (Klafthmonos Sq., Ioannou Paparrigopoulou 1 & Stadiou Str.). Facilitating financial services using government data sources

At the 17th Fintech Talks, we welcome Mr. Harry Tsavdaris Managing Director in Enterprise Digital of PwC Greece, who will present the initiatives regarding the creation of open government data and services for financial institutions, which are meant to improve the services provided, and create new ones, by facilitating procedures such as Onboarding or KyC.

16th Fintech Talks goes Digital Currencies

Outlook and potential of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) technology: Impacts and opportunities in the design and management of regulatory frameworks and payment ecosystems.

At the 16th Fintech Talks, we welcome Mr. Georgios Samakovitis, Professor of Banking and Financial Technology (FinTech), School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Greenwich, London. Mr. Samakovitis will present the initiatives in adopting worldwide Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), the list of which is constantly expanding, with the participation of over 134 central banks in March 2024 (instead of just 35 in 2020). The range of these developments marks the tech maturation of CBDCs, but also calls for a more thorough practical research of both their operational potential and their impact on the technological and operational infrastructures of the financial system concerned.

The meeting is taking place in the context of events run by Smart Attica EDIH. It will be held on Thursday, 4 April at 18:00, at the Panteion University, Room B3 (New Building, 2nd floor), Leoforos Syggrou 136, 17671.

14th Fintech Talks: Sometimes it's personal

With more than 30 participants, the 14th Fintech Talks welcomed Dr. Akis Tsekouras, Principal, Advisors Client Services, Mastercard, who presented the use of AI for personalized services and customer experience optimisation. Through international case studies in retail, financial services and hospitality, we learned more about Mastercard's Dynamic Yield service. The meeting ended up with a relaxed discussion in which attendees took part.

We celebrate the success of the Fintech Athens 2.0 conference

With 300 participants, 36 speakers, 8 panels, the second big international conference "Fintech Athens 2.0" of the Greek Fintech Hub came to a successful conclusion.

The conference was held on Friday 27 October in the Karatzas Building, one of the most emblematic NBG buildings.

The event was opened by Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis, Chair of the NBG Board. Mr. Gerasimos Siasos, Rector at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Emmanuel Givanakis CEO of ADGM Financial Services, and Mr. Haris Lambropoulos, President of the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments addressed the event.

8th Fintech Talks - Fintech Talks goes Live

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the first live Fintech Talks event.

At the 8th Fintech Talks we welcome two keynote Greek Fintech companies that have received financing from Greece and abroad.

Michalis Vafopoulos, CEO of Linked Business, will present the Linked Business platform, which provides a suite of tools to identify and understand market trends, potential customers and competitors.

Evangelos Stamatoukos, Business Development Citizen, will present the Citizen IT platform, which enables consumers to carry out instant banking transactions and payments without cards and at minimum cost.

The event will take place at the Archimedes Center, on Thursday 5 May at 18:00.

At the first Fintech Talks Dimitris Vranopoulosco-founder and CEO of Flexfin M.A.E. presented the first independent factoring company in Greece that provides financing and receivables management services to small and medium enterprises in Greece and Cyprus and Filippos Antonopoulos Co-founder & CEO of OKTO the premium payment services  services provided by the company to consumers through +5,000 points of sale worldwide, which has now surpassed one billion euro in processed transactions.
